Opening Circle / Orientation / Connecting and Intros (Various Presenters): We welcome each other into the camp community and go over the nuts-and-bolts of camp culture and logistics. Let's find out who's here and what we have to offer each other! We'll spend much of the time moving around, meeting new folks and deepening existing relationships.

7 Minute Dates: This fun, interactive, facilitated experience invites campers to pair up for 7 minutes to share more of themselves and get better acquainted. In the course of the activity, there are various criteria offered by the facilitator to encourage campers to explore their edges and take risks around attraction to and assumptions about others.

Early Morning Yoga and Meditation:  A space will be available for this, led by camp members.

Morning Circle: We start each camp morning with a circle to re-connect and learn about what's happening that day at camp. We offer appreciations to each other. This is a time to express any concerns or needs of a logistical nature. Announcements are made about karma yoga duties, the day's schedule, and descriptions of the workshops.

The Forum: is a group process developed at the German community ZEGG to provide a stage for whatever is happening inside the person: one's true motivations, deep feelings, ideas and emotions. The Forum helps facilitate transparency, sharing and clarifying unsolved situations of daily life, and it can be a catalyst for one's own personal growth.

Intro to New Culture, Safety and Intimacy with Amara

An important and fun orientation to our basic guidelines on relating to each other during camp.  What are healthy boundaries, and how do we express them in a clear, caring way? What are we doing here? Are there more satisfying ways to relate, connect, learn from and enjoy each other? Of course there are! In this workshop we'll learn some of them, including how to notice, trust, value and communicate what we are interested in, how to respect others' desires and choices, and how to increase the likelihood that you'll have a great time. And, if you like, get great cuddles.

Is Community For You?  Pros and Cons of the Lifestyle- Tracy

One might think that finding the right community is the perfect solution for many of life's ills.  What exactly is it that community can or cannot offer?  Let's explore this together with folks who have lived in and out of community.

Safe Sex Information and Conversationswith Community Members

In a sex-positive and body-honoring community, we have a responsibility to educate ourselves on how to keep ourselves safe while having fun. We?ll go over the latest medical information, and practice talking with community and prospective partners about these issues.

Snuggle Meditations with Amara Karuna

Where the Body, Soul and Awakened Mind Meet.  Closeness, awakening, presence, deep relaxation, nurturing touch, peace, consent- rolled all together at once.  Sound good?

Snuggle Power: A certain kind of deep, sub-conscious healing happens simply by being close, and letting our hearts and breathing synchronize.  Meditation: A deep harmonizing of all the chakras and energies happens when we engage in meditation. Putting both these powerful things together creates amazing transformation.  Many people do not have enough touch in their lives, and many people need help simply relaxing and letting go. Come join us for a special kind of snuggle ceremony, where we hold each other close, fully clothed.  We relax while we stay present and aware, and focus our awareness on various meditations on being together.

Panel and Salon: Polyamory, Jealousy and Sharing Love- Various community members

When people live close together, they naturally feel attractions, sometimes to others besides their own partners.  How can this be handled with honestly and openness?  Can it really work to love more than one person long term, without hiding it?  A panel of Poly Peeps will share their experiences? come and share yours.

Consensus Process in Decision Making- Biko Long

Why use consensus over other styles, like voting?  How exactly does consensus work?  What happens when one person really doesn't want to agree?  Come learn the fine points of this process, from a community member who has been living it for decades.

Cabaret/ Creativity Sharing- featuring us all!  Come one, come all, and show us more about you! No talent is required - "if you can walk, you can dance; if you can talk, you can sing!"  Sing, dance, read poetry, share art, do a skit...

Closing Circle -  Honoring the experience of the past days, we will connect, reflect, and bid farewell to this incarnation of our community.

Donna Fisher-
I have always loved playing with power. As a child I rode wild horses and climbed huge mountains. As a young adult, I fell in love with and was moved by how this power transformed me into a beautiful, free being. My love of power combined with my love of the Earth manifested in the most obvious way when I learned to be a solar electrician 20 years ago. It wasn?t an easy journey, but I had a goal in mind ? to build Amazon Power Company into an entity that would help to preserve the Earth while supplying individual needs for power.

I apprenticed as a weaver and learned about hypnotherapy, and became a Reiki Master Healer. I weave all of these tools of power into a life that brings light in the dark, illuminates my spiritual path, and helps myself and others to find balance and see deep inside ourselves. I didn?t always see this thread of power in all the aspects of my life, but upon reflection, there is no ignoring the common fabric that they have created together. I had the great fortune to grow up embraced by nature, and never had a desire to leave the nurturing womb. There is nothing more powerful in my life than the forces of Gaia that thrive and grow all around me. Now I have the privilege of dancing with Madame Pele here in Pahoa, one more time teaching me about co-creation and the power of the earth.

I?ve been blessed to share this lifetime with a daughter and a son, and my beloved Prasad, and continue to share many lessons with them. I am devoted to my teacher, Prem Baba, who guides me on the Path of the Heart, helping to Awaken Love in me and all beings. Beauty, peace, and love have manifested as my life, and my heart is full with love and gratitude!

Tracy Matfin: studied environmental science at U.C. Berkeley, and went on to be a high school science teacher for a decade, instigating as many progressive projects into her curriculum as allowed, her love of nature coming out in her leading the hiking club on many weekend hikes and restoration projects. With many lessons learned from that adventure she set about creating community here at La'akea. She brings with her skills in permaculture, edible plants, non-violent communication, vipassana meditation and group facilitation.
