Since the choir was having a last minute pep talk by the conductor, Yours Truly decided to use the disabled toilet which had an extremely loud flush which stopped me hearing the hall door being shut and locked! I couldn t get out! The only way out was a six foot drop out of the disabled loo window! I could hear the performance start and the people in a house opposite that window seemed to be taking ages fixing something in their window so I had to wait ten minutes to make a dash for freedom. I sauntered into the back of the church just in time to be blasted full volume by the visiting Soprano, Catriona Holt, who is a fine figure of a woman and even more of a fine singer. The rumour apparently spread during the interval about this daft person getting locked in the loo. Needless to say the evening was a great success . I had a couple of days work doing the messenger route for the Council which was quite interesting. There are so many different Council offices all over Lerwick so I got to know a few new places and see parts of the town I had not been to before. Although the weather has been superb over the last week we still have a sea fog, which is lingering around. My wife had to go to Aberdeen for a week on a training course for her new job and on Friday it was a beautiful hot sunny day. I rang her and told her we were covered in fog but it was warm. The fog has been covering most of Shetland though Bigton seems to have an invisible fence around it. We apparently 15 hours sunshine yesterday and it was glorious.
